Join the ADAPT lab!

Cal Poly students interested in gaining research experience can apply to be a Research Assistant (RA) in the ADAPT lab.

Being an RA offers exciting opportunities to gain hands-on research experience, including designing research studies, working with participants, managing data, and disseminating or publishing findings! The activities and responsibilities in the ADAPT lab vary, depending on the status of Dr. Duell’s ongoing projects. Students are welcome to lead or collaborate on their own projects, too!

RAs in the ADAPT lab are required to commit 2 semesters (one academic year) to the lab, to attend weekly 1-hour lab meetings, and to be actively engaged in the lab. Being an RA is not a passive role! Most students in the lab volunteer. In exchange for your time, I give you my time in terms of mentorship and hands-on learning experiences. Some ways to receive credit for working in my lab are through PSY/CD research internships, research track, and/or senior project.
